Our Teacher cares about Food Allergies!!

So, I just dropped off the girls at school and I'm at home doing the usual house chores.  The phone rings... and whenever that happens while the girls are at school, my heart drops and I immediately fear the worst!  I begin to imagine the most horrible thing happening!  Is it an allergic reaction?  Is she having an asthma attack?  Did she need her Epi-Pen?  Oh my goodness, all of those horrible what ifs are going through my mind before I even say hello.  I look at the phone and yes it's the school.  What could have happened, I just dropped her off?   What could have been so important for her Teacher to interrupt the class to call me at home?  Right away, I assume something terrible has happened.

It was her Teacher and she said, "This is Mrs. "S", and I'm calling you because I just received an email from one of our Parents and he said that he will be bringing cupcakes to class on Friday."

She actually took the time out of her day to personally call me at home!  I was a little shocked to say the least.  None of her Teachers had ever done this before.  It really showed me that she takes this food allergy stuff seriously and it  meant the world to me!  Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Mrs. S

  1. Isn't it wonderful when a teacher does something as simple a call for a heads-up on an upcoming treat another parent is bringing. My son’s teachers do this half the time. I wish all teachers could understand the importance of this to our kids to be able to provide our kids.
